Pallavi studied Art from University of Arts London, Camberwell College of Art & Design. She further went on to hone her skills in Textile Design by completing a Bachelors degree in Textiles from University of Arts London, Chelsea College of Art & Design.
Pallavi has been a creative force for the “Made in India” label through Magnolia Martinique Pvt Ltd where she has been designing, marketing & overseeing manufacturing for foreign labels like Roberto Cavalli, Jean Paul Gaultier, Guess and Miss Sixty among other international labels, for nearly five years now. This experience with some of the best international labels has given her an edge and keen understanding about the demands and functioning of the global market.
In 2007 Pallavi launched her own label “NOT SO SERIOUS” in India and has since been growing her retail footprint in the country. Currently, she retails from leading stores such as: Ensemble in Delhi and Mumbai; Mogra in Mumbai; Aza in Delhi and Mumbai; Ogaan in Delhi and Mumbai, Tamara in Hyderabad and Fuel in Mumbai and Pune; Carma in Delhi.
Recently “NOT SO SERIOUS” AW09 collection was successfully showcased at The Wills India Lifestyle Fashion Week in New Delhi. In a short stint Pallavi has been credited as a designer with a keen sense of fabric, flawless finishes and remarkable designs. Her AW09 was also selected as a representative talent from India by the FDCI to showcase at India Show (Trade Promotion Event) in the city of Almaty, Kazakhstan.
“NOT SO SERIOUS” SS10 has exhibited at Pure: London SS10 at Olympia London in August followed by Prêt a porter in Paris in September’09.This year Pallavi became one of the two Indian designers to present her collection at ATMOSPHERE in Paris , the biggest and the most prestigious trade event across the globe.
