In 2004, sisters-in-law, Gauri and Radhika Tandon (between Mumbai and Silicon Valley), launched a passion project to create stylish, high quality, India-inspired fashion jewellery. Using novel materials such as wood and resin, these fashion-forward pieces caught the attention of editors, celebrities and retailers. So much so, that the adulation compelled the co-founders to dedicate themselves full-time to the brand. Isharya’s playful, yet cutting-edge jewellery uses unique materials such as wood, resin, semiprecious and glass stones. Celebrity fans of their work include Cameron Diaz; Jennifer Lopez; Kim Kardashian and Sofia Vergara. The label’s stunning pieces have been featured on US sitcoms such as Entourage, Modern Family, and Gossip Girl.


Derived from the names of their children – ISHaan, ARmaan and ArYA – ISHARYA is available in over 500 fine retail and online stores. With a rapidly growing e-commerce footprint and social media presence, the brand has a presence in 60 countries with prestigious retailers such as Harvey Nichols, Bloomingdale’s, Ensemble and Aza, amongst others.


From glamorous chandelier earrings to jewel encrusted cuffs and bold cocktail rings, each piece is designed to fuse an aesthetic of effortless California chic with Bollywood glamour. Isharya’s irresistible collections are inspired by a plethora of themes – from prehistoric crocodiles to the temples of Hampi. Raised in Delhi, Gauri moved to London to study Fashion Merchandising at American College London (1994). This was followed by a Master’s degree in Industrial Relations from the London School of Economics (1995).


Gauri loves researching fashion trends and being inspired by objects of beauty, as she looks after the creative aspects of Isharya. She’s a fan of fitness and wellness, striving to maintain a healthy, balanced lifestyle. When she isn't at the office, she spends much of her free time with her children, and travelling.  


“Our ambition is to be a global lifestyle brand similar to Tory Burch or Michael Kors one day,” Radhika Tandon said. “We are India-inspired but innovative: We want to take our heritage and make it new.”


Born in London, Radhika spent her childhood in Delhi . After her parents finally decided to settle down in California in Radhika earned a degree in B.Sc. in neuroscience at UCLA. She moved to San Francisco to earn a J.D. in Law at the University of San Francisco of Law specialising in Intellectual Property Law, which she would practice in the Bay Area.


In 2007, Radhika left her law practice to focus on ISHARYA full-time. Radhika looks after international marketing, branding and sales for ISHARYA. She constantly innovates on ways to grow the business in international markets and the brand’s online interface with social media, direct outreach and online sales.
