Mr. Ayush Mehra, the young & dynamic face of Study By Janak, is driving the three decade old legacy of the brand from the front, he has been the business & strategic force working tirelessly behind the scenes. He is results driven, self-motivated & resourceful director with a proven ability to develop & strengthen management teams in order to maximize company profitability & efficiency.

Ayush Mehra - ‘The Beginning’

Ayush began his entrepreneurial journey with the conceptualization & start up of the successful franchisee model - SBJ 690, which set up over 80 stores across india in less than 2 years. While being operational but not sustainable, SBJ 690 was shut down.?This was the learning curve which had a meaningful impact on his skills in terms of learning the entrepreneurial essentials like Number Crunching & developing a successful business model.

The Journey

With the experience & knowledge gained from his first endeavor, streamed across all the verticals of the business; in the year 2011, he joined the lineage created by his father, Ace Designer & Entrepreneur, Mr. Manoj Mehra - ‘Study By Janak’. With a vision to make the organization more dynamic & progressive along with the mission of transforming Study By Janak from a family run & financially unstable organization to a Cash Rich Corporate Powerhouse; he rolled up his sleeves & got to work, with the mindset to go above & beyond the call of duty in order to get the job done.

Ayush focused on creating a robust set of leaders, investing in creating a strong portfolio of product brands, re-imaging the retail experience for customers across all the formats & upping the ante on quality of products, as well as assortment & merchandise planning.

1.            Ayush undertook the expansion of Luxury Retail Space of Karol Bagh & South Ex Store from a combined 14,000 sq ft to 40,000 sq ft in order to fortify the core, the flagship store. ?

2.            Transformed the operational structure to set the base strong, as he settles for nothing short of excellence :

a)  Management Information System: Developed an integrated & elaborate MIS into the business structure empowering all, from managers to Sales Executives, to get quick access to regular system generated reports, helping them evaluate daily activities, challenges, making decisions & tracking progress in real time, making the whole process, right from the front-end to back-end, more efficient & profitable.

b)  Enterprise Resource Planning Process - Developed a customized & effective ERP process, which helped manage the business efficiently & automate front-end to back-end functions ?related to technology, services, human resources, etc., Which in turn accelerated the business growth by 300% within a short span of 4 years.

c) Client Loyalty Building - He incorporated a ‘first price right’ approach, steering clear of the legacy of discounts which helped eradicate the unstructured discounting mode. To further build on loyalty, the ‘Feather Touch Loyalty Program’ was introduced, which also helps in collecting data on consumer buying patterns.

d)  Brand Development - In order to target the right market and to make the brand more accessible, he launched new segments of the business with set ERP’s.

                           i.  Dial a Suit - A quick turnaround service dedicated to people on the go.

                          ii. Tailormade - Everything made to measure with customized solutions.

e)  Digitalization of the brand - In the year 2013, along with a team of in house developers & digital marketeers,     Ayush managed to successfully launch & install digital platforms as a business module to connect                       with a completely new set of potential clients, on a regular basis.

f)  Workforce Building with Systematic Hiring & Growth - Structured the governance, developed advanced workforce planning capabilities, implemented systematized performance measuring & accountability, introduced staff building & skill enhancement workshops & implemented the right HR Philosophies, making Study By Janak a well oiled machine. SBJ has grown from merely 3 disorganized departments to 14 orderly & systematized departments with set hierarchical system, responsibilities, targets, processes, JD’s, KRA’s, SOP’s etc., The brand now employs a qualified & well trained workforce of 350 spread across 8 outlets (pan india), Corporate Office & the Production Facility based in Gurgaon.

g) Restructuring of Accounts & Finance -

                          i.  Budgeting - Front-end to Back-end.

                          ii. Vendor Management.

                          iii. Increase of Margins & Decrease of unstructured/Legacy discounting.

                          iv. Debt Restructuring, making it a cash rich company.

Mr Ayush Mehra led the transformation of the brand Study By Janak. The fashion house was now structured, profitable & efficient & was now set to reap the benefits of scale, experience & power of the brand.

Brand Expansion - The Second Phase

With a reinforced foundation, Ayush moved forward with a zeal to make Study By Janak the number 1 Designer, Occasion wear & made to measure brand of India.

What the future Holds

Study By Janak is emerging as a clear market leader in the luxury retail space in India. There is now a wealth of experience & expertise in envisioning trends, in execution & in operating the business. Backed by a strong team of professionals in design, sourcing, merchandising & supply chain. SBJ now operate around 1,00,000 square feet of luxury retail space & in the next 3 years are aiming to operate around 3,50,000 square feet through Study By Janak & Tailormade Stores Pan India and in UAE.

November 2011 - Launch of the golden mile of tailoring, ‘40 Saville Row’ in India with an exclusive Tie Up with SBJ & Introduction of the Feather Touch Loyalty Program.

2012 - Launch of ‘Dial-A-Suit’ Service & Launch of ‘Tailormade’ Label.

March 2013 - Event Organized to Mark the 100 years of Cinema & Launch of SBJ Digital Platforms.

2014 - Lunch of the label ‘AJAS’ in association with Jas Arora; Tailormade’ featured at the Vogue Wedding Show & Fashion Show organized at Kingdom of Dreams Gurgaon; Black Tie Evening organized in association with Porshe & Calender Launch - Legacy of Legends.

November 2015 - Calender Launch - Legends of Tomorrow.

2016 - Inauguration of SBJ Store in Ahmedabad & Inauguration of SBJ Store at DLF Mall of India, Noida. Styling Partner for Team India - Olympics | Para Olympics | Asian Games. Inauguration of the ‘Corporate Office’ in Gurgaon.

2017 - Styling Partner for Team India - CABI & Inauguration of SBJ Store in Chandigarh.
