With 43 shows and 130 stalls, the premier event offers five enthralling days of inspiration, ingenuity and imagination aligned with business opportunities. The event which is a fashion kaleidoscope will bring a diversity of talent on the runway. The show will highlight its multicultural philosophy with ensembles that will hold the commercial appeal all under one roof at NSIC Exhibition Complex.
The purpose behind this large scale fashion show is to encourage and endorse designers to grow within the global fashion fraternity. The event provides them with various opportunities to flourish globally and develop an international appeal with customers worldwide. WIFW is the perfect platform that allows style gurus to showcase their collection to domestic and international buyers, media, design schools and fashionistas. Most importantly, it lets the industry know what’s ‘in’ and what’s ‘out’ for the season.
WIFW has a new technological aspect of connecting with the masses. It’s for first time in the history of Indian fashion industry that the fashion conscious public will be able to access and watch this grand event live on cyberspace.
Being 15 seasons old, WIFW attracts designers from all over the country and overseas through an exchange programme. While designers have woven Indian crafts and traditional pattern to urban design fused with western look: the models, choreographers, make-up artists have worked in congruence with the designers towards marketing fashion and transforming the runway into a power packed marketplace.
This time around, WIFW has turned the spotlight on new talent with the strategic objective of identifying India’s top budding and emerging designers, who would showcase their collection. The goal being clear, to promote and encourage designers grow their brands locally and internationally whilst developing strong links with the wider manufacturing and retail industries. Also known for promoting models, through New faces going places, WIFW will promote fresh and established models as they sashay down the runway.
WIFW, as always been associated with a cause, this time, we are lending our support to NGO Khushii’s global development initiative, the ‘World Action Forum’.
As always, WIFW A/W 2010 brings you the best, brightest & biggest in Indian fashion and is an interesting rendezvous of exquisite lounges, plush salons; special on-site restaurants and exhibition café counters to ensure all guests and participants have a splendid time at the WIFW, where business meets absolute fashion!
