Samant, a NIFT alumnus made a mark with his first men wear show at the Singapore Fashion Week in December ’06 with his collection for men followed by ‘Kamasutra’ collection showcased at India Fashion Week. Here, he got the media and the buyers very interested in his textiles and was invited to participate at the London Fashion Week, of which he has been a part of ever since. Recently, he presented his spring ’09 collection in Paris at Carousel Du Louvre and the AW ’09 range at the LFW’s ‘Esthetica’. He works with silks, hand woven and hand knitted eco-friendly textiles from Bhagalpur, Bihar. After winning runner up award at the Young Fashion Entrepreneur Awards in December ’08, Samant has involved himself in several projects on sustainable fashion in the UK. The label Samant Chauhan sells at several stores across India and abroad.
