Rakesh and Vandana began their fashion career in 1998 afterngraduating from NIFT, New Delhi. Rakesh spent ten years at thenhighest levels of Indian fashion as a designer before designingnfor Aafreen in 2008. Vandana launched her label Aafreennin April 2000 with Indian heritage crafts and traditionalnembroideries. She has received abundant recognition withinnthe fashion industry, for contemporary interpretations ofntraditional embroideries.nThe collection celebrates the traditional style of the art & craftnmovement, gives it a modernized twist by playfully stylized &ndecorative approach. Delicate fabrication & colour contrasts withncombined brights, including cobalt blue, electric orange, sharpnlime green & raw red. Iridescent gold & silver are appliednto decoration, while black adds definition.
