The label Kallol Datta 1955 was launched in 2007 and the numeral in the label denotes the year his mother was born. The designer has concluded a residency conducted by KHOJ International Artists Association and the Arts Collaboratory. The Residency Idea of Fashion was the 1st Fashion residency in India.
Kallols design philosophy is bling-free, bling-less, Bling-to-death and the likes. The designer think shiny objects distract him and he believes that details in garments are important, the shape and form of the piece too hold more importance.
