Having graduated in Art and further on a degree in Textile design from the University of Arts London, Designer Pallavi Mohan started as the creative force behind the “Made in India” label for Magnolia Martinique. As the design director at Magnolia, she has been catering to foreign labels like Roberto Cavalli, Jean Paul Gaultier, Juicy Couture and Alice & Olivia among other international labels.
In 2007 Pallavi launched her own label “Not So Serious” in India and has been displaying collections that merge western sensibilities with Indian ethos. Interesting mix of colors and combination of mix media with feminine sensibility is the essence of the label.
“Not So Serious” made its debut with Fashion Design Council of India by successfully showcasing A/W09 collection at the India Fashion Week in New Delhi. Her experience with some of the best international labels has given her a keen understanding about the demands and functioning of the global fashion industry.
In a short stint, Pallavi has been shortlisted in the TOP 5 designers at Vogue India Fashion Fund 2015 and credited with a keen sense of fabric, flawless finishes and original designs. Not So Serious is one of the few labels from India to participate in Whos Next Paris, Coterie New York and Pure London.
“Not So Serious” endeavors to constantly break the mould and create an individual style statement. The brand believes that simplicity is the ultimate sophistication. The fresh and crisp sensibility of the label pushes the envelope when it comes to style and elegance. Looking back at the evolution of the brand from stylishly witty, quirky to individualistic it offers something for everyone.
