Pallavi Jaikishan

With no formal training in design and armed with just knowledge of bead embroidery, passed on by her mother, and a strong aesthetic inclination, she built a successful career in fashion design.

Nostalgia”this collection is an amalgamation of the old designs merged with the new as well as modified to a collection of today! Having taken her 26-27 year old chakra design and blended it with other chindi flower motifs and presented it in a new Avatar! Also her classic flowers done in French knots on saree’s are presented with a bit of a twist and turned the look in to a newer and fresher one!

The fabrics used besides the usual tulle, georgette duchess satins are keeping in mind what she had done some 25-30 years back, is a translucent, fabric with a glasse touch which has a complete old world look about it! She has also used lots of French lame and French tissue for my pleated line. There is also a line of French and Italian Brocade lehengas with embroidered dupattas and blouses. Here also introduced old lime favorites kabja (cottie) with to be worn on blouses teamed with lehengas and sarees

The silhouette is very varied from full four circle ghagras with can-can to slim straight falling lehenga skirts with blouses and stoles. There are Shararas and tops jackets and skirts a wide range of sarees.

The colour palate is very wide, for there are a lot of metallic tones in various shades of gold and silver. This time she has used a new colour palette, which she has never used before – purples to cranberries in various shades. Also there are gold lames with shaded dupattas and sarees in these shades.
