
‘Search begins for the Best in the industry’ FDCI organised National Model Auditions – Female Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week Autumn/Winter 2011 @ The Park Hotel, Parliament Street, New Delhi
New Delhi, March 1, 2011: Budding models thronged the capital today to participate in the all-India model auditions for Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week (WIFW) Autumn/Winter 2011 organized by the Fashion Design Council of India (FDCI) at The Park, New Delhi. Having successfully established itself as a venerable launch pad for some of the freshest faces in fashion, the auditions received an overwhelming response from new and aspiring models.

The esteemed jury members selected models on several attributes such as confidence, attitude and poise among other parameters. As has been the case every year, this promises to be a very competitive and exciting selection process aimed at bringing forward the best and most promising faces in fashion. Being instrumental in introducing the likes of Deepika Padukone, Jacqueline Fernandez and Liza Hayden to the fashion fraternity, they continue to set new benchmarks for talent every season.
For over a decade Fashion Design Council of India (FDCI) India’s apex fashion body has played an important role in promoting some of India’s best young talent who have grown to become household names today. Model auditions for the WIFW are an integral part of this process of bringing novelty to the biggest trade event of the fashion industry as also creating new avenues for aspiring models.

Rahul Dev said, “I prefer models with relaxed personalities, who are composed and can showcase designer collection with ease.”
Milind Soman said, “I am looking at a versatile, vibrant personality who can flaunt all styles with ease.”
Aparna Bahl said, “For me confidence really matters. I am looking for freshness and the unusual quotient that will stand out. Yes, the tall and thin is a criteria but it is essential to have a good body. I will love to see some toned bodies, not the regular hour glass figure but something different.”
Manav Gangwani said, “I am looking out for some new faces and nice tall girls. Though we have our supermodels in each fashion week, it is nice for fresh talent to show on the ramp. Just how important it is to showcase new designer talent in each Wills India Fashion Week, it is equally our focus to showcase new models on the ramp. I am looking forward to having a good time and discovering the next big face of WIFW.”
Vinod Nair said, “For me a fit and toned body is a must. I will be looking forward to some nice tall girls who can walk well.”
