
Hailed as the Czarina of Indian Fashion Neeta Lulla is one of the most celebrated names in the Indian fashion industry today. Counted amongst Indias top bridal fashion designers she has created nothing short of a legacy in the fashion and film industry in a career spanning over 30 years.
Her designs are a beautiful blend of our rich cultural heritage paired up with contemporary influences making her one of the favourite choice for to-be bridesand Indian audiences globally. Known for giving a contemporary touch to aboriginal textiles like Srikalahasti, Kanjeevaram, Banarsi, Paithani and Kalamkari her designs offer the perfect fusion of cultural and ethnic influences blended with contemporary design that celebrates tradition and evolution through its collections, while intricately weaving every garment to perfection with impeccable artistry and quality. Driven by her curiosity to explore and an unwavering dedication to excel, she is a true artist and visionary and has played a big role in revolutionising the Indian fashion and film industry. She is the only designer in the country to have created bridal couture by fusing Tanjore painting in a lehenga with gold embroidery characterised by rich, flat and vivid colours and simple iconic composition. She also developed a USP of fusing traditional weaves, and ancient crafts like Srikalahasti Kalamkari, Kanjeevaram, Banarsi, Paithani with contemporary silhouettes. She introduced fibre optics in bridal wear for the first time in India and started the concept of a pre-stitched saree.
She has had many successful international associations previously with Cartier, for whom she designed garments to showcase the Maharaja Jewellery Classic Vintage Collection in Dubai as well as with automobile majors such as Bentley and Aston Martin. Neeta was also invited to do a show in Monte Carlo to raise funds for the patients of Hepatitis C, along with International designers Lavin, Ungaro, Escada, George Chakra. Collaborated with various lifestyle and housing brands like VIP Bags for luggage, Portico New York for home textiles, Aliens Group for interiors and Kiah for jewellery. Neeta has been a pioneer in the field of fashion education with an experience of 15 years of lecturing in Fashion Comportment and Grooming at P.V. Polytechnic. Currently she is a director at Hamstech, Hyderabad, renowned educational institute that imparts creative education in fashion, interior, jewellery design, and photography. She also played a pivotal role in setting up the Whistling Woods School of Design.
