After studying at NIFT for two years, Tahera worked with an atelier in Bangalore called Thai Designs, where she trained hands on and developed her pattern making and cutting skills. She has also interned with the design house Lecoanet-Hemant. She launched her eponymous line in December 2007. Her USP is perfectly chic and modest party dresses with Taheras signature brand of romantic modernity. She takes her inspiration from chic, urban women who own their style and are not swayed by fleeting trends.
She creates fashion that enhances individuality. The clothes are eclectic, with a strong focus on fusing creativity with function and comfort with quality. She excels in clean, sleek tailoring and intricate cuts; clothes that reflect character and personality.
There is a strong expressiveness, combining the old with the new. Youthful, modern in design, slightly audacious in spirit yet subtly romantic. The clothes have a sense of fun and a boundless energy. Featuring an excellent interplay of colours, her collections are the ultimate combination of elegant and quirky, feminine and a bit surprising that makes the clothes exciting to watch and wear. Tahera loves working with luxurious fabrics such as silks and adorning them with unexpected details and delicate touches such as handmade rosettes and intriguing draping and pleating accents to add dimension and personality to each piece.
