Hailing from the culturally rich city of Jaipur, Rajasthan, the label Swati Vijaivargie is a play of colours, textures and embroideries in Indian textiles and garments.
The story began a few years ago. After graduating from National Institute of Fashion Technology, India, she worked with a few leading designers like Raghavendra Rathore and Kavita Bhartiya. Then she ventured into family business of home textiles and rugs.
She received the award for Best Women Entrepreneur from FORHEX (Federation of Rajasthan Handicraft Exporters). She got a chance to explore the rich heritage of Indian crafts and textiles and work with lot of dyers, printers, weavers and embroiders of India. But her love for garments pursued her to start her womens clothing line in the year 2012.
Creating her own textiles was an asset when Swati decided to specialise in thread-resist shibori patterns and creating surface textures using different tie-dye, printing and embroidery techniques in rich pure fabrics. The collections designed are India Modern — clean, classic and minimalistic, using traditional textiles and techniques with a fresh approach and international appeal.
