This season, Meera Ali gave us a solo show in collaboration with creative inputs from her young daughter Sama Ali. The collection was created keeping in mind the tastes and sensibilities of the modern day independent woman.
Emerald greens, blacks, blues, greys, burgundy and brown was the colour palette that Ali chose for her collection. The collection, as seen on the ramp were wearable, modern yet classic – in short, the ensembles appealing to women of all sizes. Structured silhouettes paired themselves beautifully with flowy drapes – that was an integral feature of the garments showcased.
Add hints of sequins to the garments and you have that extra zing- let’s just say this look is perfect for an evening out in the winters. Breeches, coats, shrugs, skirts, shirts and A-line dresses were the key pieces featured in the collection with an occasional glimpse of features such as high slits, statement necklaces and ruffled necklines, that gave the collection a trendy and contemporary finish. Wool, suede, chiffon, bamberg crepe and sequin fabrics made for interesting and appropriate fabric choices. Anti fit jackets and shrugs, beautiful printed scarves and tops with conservative necklines lent the collection a classic touch. Imran Khan as the showstopper looked dapper among the lovely ladies in a moss green scarf.
