Chanderi has always been the weapon of choice for Rahul Mishra, and this time, he takes his collection a notch up with jersey and merino wool inclusions. The collection called Similar Opposites talks of this metamorphosis through handwoven fabrics.

Experimentation, that’s the welcome change that Mishra talks about in his collection as he works around yarn and fabric structures. He confirms that, just like a simple t-shirt, the inclusion of knit and jersey at strategic places can enhance the comfort of wearing jackets.CM4_1701 CM4_1974

We simply agree! And so the journey begins with assymetrical dresses in handwoven merino wool silk combos and one-shoulder drapes that work for those easy winter days. The collection showcased tunics, long dresses, chiffon jumpsuits with jersey detailing, palazzo pants and sporty trench jackets.CM4_2161 CM4_1612

The chiffon cape dresses are simply easy on the body, while the one-shoulder drapes work well on leaner silhouettes. We especially loved the ensembles that worked with the jugalbandhi border, the silk jackets and the woven sheer dresses.CM4_2014 CM4_1858

The crochet dress with jersey detailing and the sheer jersey dress with the organza detailing are notable amongst the collection. Our personal favourite was the handwoven chanderi ivory gold dress – beautiful, minimal and simple. The Mulberry jackets in silk and the teal blue overlap dresses too work wonders for this collection.
