Skills Required :
- A degree in Fashion Design from a recognized institute.
- 3-4 years of experience in a junior designer role, specifically in western wear.
- Strong skills in draping, garment construction, fashion sketching (digital and manual) and embroidery settings
- Ability to develop original and wearable designs with attention to detail.
- Comfortable collaborating with in-house teams including pattern makers, tailors, stylists and merchants
- A well-rounded portfolio with examples of contemporary western and indo-westren silhouettes.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Organized, self-driven, and open to learning from feedback.
Job Summary:
We are looking for a motivated and skilled Junior Fashion Designer with 3-4 years of hands-on experience in designing Women’s western wear, especially tops, pants, jackets, jumpsuits, shorts, and skirts to join our in-house design team. The ideal candidate should have strong conceptual abilities, a keen eye for detailing, and a sound understanding of draping and garment construction.
In this role, you will assist the senior design team in the creation of collections, take ownership of assigned categories, and work collaboratively across departments to bring designs from idea to finished product.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in designing and developing seasonal and capsule collections for western wear, with a focus on contemporary silhouettes and statement pieces.
- Translate design briefs and moodboards into sketches, drapes, and tech packs.
- Support in the draping and toile-making process to develop new shapes and silhouettes.
- Collaborate with the sampling unit for fit trials and refine garments based on feedback from fittings.
- Research fabrics, trims, color palettes, and embellishment trends aligned with the brand aesthetic.
- Ensure design files, swatch cards, and references are updated and well-organized.
- Prepare spec sheets and coordinate with pattern makers and tailors for sample execution.
- Participate in team discussions on fabric sourcing, styling for shoots, and collection planning.
- Coordinate with the merchandising and production teams on sampling timelines and technical accuracy.
- Ensure all deliverables align with brand quality standards and market positioning.
