The influences are many military chic, Cleopatra-inspired and mutant style all rolled into a big fat cocktail of sorts. But the single thread that ties all of it together is the toughness of the silhouette, the shape, the attitude and mostly, the energy that the collection seems to exude in every way. Futuristic ideas were explored with paneled jackets, studded dresses and statement necklaces. Power shoulders settled comfortably next to studded embellishments and zippers thereby creating an illusion of structure and shape that is both severe and austere.
Her military-inspired jackets and structured pants are perfect ensembles for the new age diva. The chain embellishments on dresses and necklaces are beautiful, the zippered and studded pant suits strong and the embellished mini-skirts, affable. The way in which Kanika moulds warrior-like embellishments into wearable ensembles is applaudable and our favourite outfit was the harem pants paired with a structured shrug that showcased kanikas craft beautifully. Kudos to the additions like embellished envelope clutches and metallic statement necklaces that bring the right zing to the outfit. A collection that will be remembered as sci-fi warrior in the coming years.
