Production management: Oversee the entire production process, from the preparation of material requirement sheets to the handover of the final shipment to the buyer.
Supplier and material management: Source, negotiate with, and manage suppliers for raw materials, trims, and accessories.
Timeline and scheduling: Develop and manage production timelines to ensure all deadlines are met.
Quality control: Ensure that the finished product meets the buyer's quality standards and specifications.
Logistics and shipping: Track shipments and ensure they are delivered on time and according to the buyer's needs.
Communication: Maintain clear and consistent communication with design, production, and finance teams, as well as external partners and buyers. Should be good in reporting in excel.

Key Responsibilities & KRAs
1. Receive and document all orders from design / retail / MBO teams
2. Create and monitor production timelines, ensuring daily progress tracking and on-time dispatch.
3. Coordinate with sourcing, embroidery, and fabric teams for timely availability of materials.
4. Maintain fabric issue registers and consumption records for all orders.
5. Negotiate with vendors for sampling and production costs to optimize margins while maintaining quality.
6. Supervise development of toiles / samples and client approvals before production.
7. Ensure smooth handover of design files, specs, and references from design to production.
8. Implement QC checks at every stage: embroidery, stitching, finishing, and packing.
9. Maintain production tracking sheets with daily status updates.
10. Liaise with logistics for dispatch and coordinate with store/client for delivery confirmation.
11. Coordinate with the merchandising and warehouse teams to ensure correct SKU segregation and dispatch documentation.
12. Maintain a tracker for fittings, client trials, and alterations.
13. Maintain production MIS, cost sheets, and order-wise profitability.
14. Submit weekly progress reports directly to management highlighting delays, risks, and proposed solutions.
Required Skills & Profile
1. Minimum 5–7 years experience in luxury fashion / couture production merchandising.
2. Strong understanding of fabric construction, embroidery processes, garment finishing, and quality standards.
3. Proficient in production tracking systems, Excel, and documentation.
4. Excellent communication and vendor management skills.
5. Ability to multitask between custom couture orders and bulk production while maintaining precision.
6. Proactive problem-solver with strong follow-through and accountability.
1. Design Translation & Illustration Skills
- Ability to translate the senior designer’s concepts into detailed sketches, technical flats, and CAD drawings.
- Strong sense of proportion, drape, and silhouette — especially for couture, bridal, and prêt lines.
- Skilled in hand-rendering and digital illustration (Photoshop / Illustrator / Procreate).
2. Technical Sampling & Development Knowledge
- Understanding of fabrics, embroidery techniques, trims, and finishing
- Coordination with sampling, pattern, and embroidery teams for accurate execution of design intent.
- Must be detail-oriented in maintaining sampling sheets, measurement specs, and embroidery layouts.
3. Trend Research & Inspiration Development
- Ability to research global trends, fabrics, motifs, and silhouettes relevant to Varun Bahl aesthetics.
