About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Tailor Master with strong expertise in couture and high-end fashion garments. The ideal candidate should have excellent knowledge of garment construction, fitting, alterations, and finishing, with the ability to execute intricate and customized designs with high precision.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute couture and customized garments as per designer specifications, patterns, and measurements.
- Handle stitching and construction of garments including blouses, dresses, lehengas, gowns, jackets, and other occasion/couture wear.
- Understand and interpret designer sketches, patterns, measurements, and garment details.
- Ensure accurate fitting, finishing, proportions, and overall garment quality.
- Handle complex alterations and customization requirements.
- Work closely with the Design and Fashion Consultant teams to understand garment requirements and make necessary modifications.
- Manage intricate garment details such as lining, piping, pleats, gathers, panels, zippers, hooks, and structured finishing.
- Ensure garments are completed within the required quality and delivery timelines.
- Identify and resolve stitching, fitting, and construction issues during the production process.
- Maintain high standards of neatness, finishing, and craftsmanship expected in couture fashion.
- Support fittings and make alterations based on client requirements and designer feedback.
- Maintain proper care and handling of fabrics, trims, and garments.
Requirements
- 5+ years of relevant tailoring experience, preferably with a designer house, couture brand, luxury fashion label, or boutique.
- Strong experience in couture / designer / customized garments.
- Excellent knowledge of garment construction and finishing techniques.
- Ability to work independently from measurements, patterns, and design references.
- Strong understanding of fitting and alterations.
- Experience handling delicate, premium, and embellished fabrics is preferred.
- Good attention to detail and precision.
- Ability to work under deadlines without compromising on quality.
- Strong teamwork and coordination skills.
Preferred Experience
Candidates with experience working with designer labels, couture houses, bridal wear, luxury fashion brands, or bespoke tailoring studios will be preferred.
