Drape and surface ornamentation go hand in hand when it comes to Gaurav Gupta’s signature and this season, he went a bit ahead and created looks with beautiful prints and structured ideas. The show began with form-fitted jackets and suits that gave the modern woman a powerful silhouette.

The modern embellishments – zips, metallic belts and military buttons all added to the charm. The three dimensional silhouettes were interesting as were the power shoulders that came with the printed drape dresses – a look that was easy to wear and innovative to the core. The dove and roses print seems to be his new signature this season as the drapes went easier on the body and the maxi dresses flattered the Indian woman.

The idea of the bionic woman came through in this collection as sharp cuts, sculpted looks and calculated fluidity worked through to keep the severity in place. The colour palette went from siren red, to tangerine, midnight purple, robin blue, charcoal grey and black.
