Manish Malhotras show brought a rather eventful day 3 of WIFW 12 to a grand end. The collection ‘Gulaala or Giltoor’ showcased by the designer was a tribute to a team of 65 kashmiri craftsmen who work under Malhotra.
True to his designs, Manish showcased a collection of exquisitely beautiful lehengas, sarees and anarkalis with intricate kashmiri embroidery and thread work. The sheer fabrics lent a delicate, feminine touch to each of his pieces and the use of traditional zari work in a pop of bright and rich colours gave the outfits an eye-catching finishing touch.
The floor sweeping anarkalis in sheer mesh fabrics were absolutely breathtaking and use of shades such as bright fuschia, tangerine and mint made for an interesting choice. Ivories, creams, off whites, rani pinks, reds, burnt oranges and brick hues however were the colours that Manish stuck to for this exquisite collection.Kashmiri lace was beautifully intergrated into the borders of most of his creations and the sheer printed dupattas gave his designs that magical finish which we often see in Manishs clothes. His collection as always, was grand, elegant, glamorous and extremely wearable.
