CEDAR & PINE was launched as a boutique label by designer Nishant Vashisht with his business partner
Rahul Agarwal in february 2021. The duo envisaged this label as a smart and cost effective indian occassion wear clothing line and inaugurated it with a boutique store in Almora, a small and beautiful province in Uttarakhand and also Rahul’s hometown.
The name Cedar & Pine comes from the names of these two beautiful trees that grow in the mountains
and emphasize the love for nature and wilderness that is common to both Nishant and Rahul. This love for nature also translates to preference to simplicity and unclutterred sense of design and aesthetic which is at the core of the brand.
The brand is focussed on designing and retailing ocassion wear for women who are looking for something
fashionable and contemporary; appropriate for Indian ocassions but not too heavy or embellished
with traditional embroideries. The brand believes that fashion can be easy, fun and accessible and
doesnt always have to be an heirloom investment.
With an overwhelming response on their social media and website the brand decided to make their business purely online and closed their Almora store. With their studio and workshop based in Delhi, Cedar & Pine is retailing from their own website and alsothrough some leading MBOs like Pernia’s, Aza and Elahe.
