Mrunalini Rao, a couture fashion label based out of Hyderabad; is a narrative of courage, of the confidence embodied through the dramatic silhouettes, fluid fabrics and surface design uniquely a testimony of ease and charm. With its heart in the right place, the label aims to create something to give back a conscious, timeless and hand- crafted commitment. The founder Mrunalini Rao was always inclined and passionate towards arts and crafts. After graduating from NIFT and working under top design houses, Mrunalini started outsourcing her designs for exhibitions and eventually built her studio. The idea of making pretty clothes was always there, whilst achieving the vision of making each piece artistic and a unique one. The brand doesnt believe in fast trends and aims at creating timeless, classic creations.
The brand has a story to share – carefully fabricated in its character keeping in mind that it provides something for each and every one; there is a new element to look forward to each time. With care and consideration at its very core the brand maintains transparency in its production, values a conversation with its consumers while creating a new art of clothing. The comforting promise of crafting something so humble, immortal and responsible makes the brand more desirable.
The diversity in Indian crafts and cultures have inspired Mrunalini to choose Indian wear as her main stream of design. Her strength lies in surface design and she likes to challenge herself to include contemporary elements into Indian wear. She weaves tradition with modern aesthetic to discover a new design statement for every collection and that has become the Brands Identity. Every design is intricately handcrafted from a white fabric to a fully finished product. The label offers a range of artistic, elegant and comfortable clothing in Fusion and Bridal Wear. Whereas her pre^t label, Uri by Mrunalini Rao, a home-grown ethical brand, designed around conscious choices. This line is tinged with the ethos of zero waste production, biodegradability and ethical employment.
