Priyanka Kakkar plunged into the world of fashion after graduating from National Institute of Fashion Technology, New Delhi in 2006. She interned under legendary British designer Zandra Rhodes in 2005 and worked at Raghuvendra Rathore design cell in 2006.
She launched her collections under the label Ankyra by Priyanka Kakkar in 2006 retailing at several designer stores in India. Highly inspired by the daily lifestyle products, the label has always had an extremely feminine and contemporary design philosophy with styles that are luxurious yet understated. The garments are styled with intermingling influences of the ancient world as well as the new identities of our times.
The label reflects classic silhouettes that are immaculately styled to interpret aesthetics of the past in an elegantly modern perspective. The label has developed the reputation for colourful and tongue in cheek approach to fashion, attracting customers with a definite sense of individuality who want to have fun with their wardrobe. Young and hip, the designs are sensual and wearable. The collection is based on straight line clothing, giving emphasis to cuts and lot of fabric mixes on a single silhouette.
