Established in 2016 by the designer Yadvi Agarwal, Yavi is a ready to wear label started with the idea of bringing Indianness together with western silhouettes, using natural fabrics. The label focuses on sustainability with concepts like up-cycling and reusing of waste fabrics. Since the country is rich with tradition crafts and techniques, we have used a number of techniques such as weaving, embroideries, kantha work, appliqué, tie-dye, shiboris, of different nature, digital prints, block prints, and natural dyes, to create unique fabrics which are blended to meet the requirements of the discerning western world women. The brand has also developed their signature one thread embroidery garment, as they focus on innovative textiles. The one thread embroidery piece has no fabric at all and the details reflect the work of master crafts men, as it takes a month of work to make one piece.
