“As an international designer it is very nice to be part of WOW show second time,as before the show in pre-show party people were appreciating our garment,I got a bit confident and as the award was announced ,I was a dream came true for me as I heard from the first time about the WOW from our seniors who used to tell about the level of excellence needed to be a WOW finalist, and now getting a award for my creation its like,I could say the moment has come for which I was trying since first year, the garment took 50 metre of lurex,40metre sequins,40 metre of hard net,40 metre of boning,10 metre of buckrum and very high intricacy of quality tailoring” Daranga says. “The garment is inspired by the grandiosity and luxury of the game of cards, the unpredictability with every toss of sides and the addictive flavour of luck, which if personified would walk in nothing less than glamorous rich silhouettes and fabric.” He adds on

Dame Suzie founder of WOW says the winners have shown an inherent understanding of design and craftsmanship that optimises a quality that is expected in WOW. As the judges looks for outstanding artistic brilliance in creating original and innovative works”she adds

WOW Competition Director Heather Palmer attributes “The exceptionally high standard of designs from around the world confirms WOW’s place as a world-leading awards show, This year’s judges say that the successful winners have provided fresh ideas, a mix of edginess and sensitivity, and innovative approaches to section themes. The use of materials and construction techniques across the board is also quite incredible. There were use of electronics, taxidermy, synthetic and human hair, wood, and almost every fabric and textile you can imagine, including felt, silk and wool.” Palmer says
