Abraham & Thakore is presenting a new collection that explores the language and vocabulary of fashion in India today. Drawing from design influences that are shaping today’s discourse on fashion, we look at traditional as well as contemporary sources of inspiration.

We believe the sari is as much a part of the modern fashion wardrobe as the slip dress.

From wide leg palazzo pants to a pair of churidars that are reimagined to work with a classic shirt, the collection explores the juxtaposition of the unexpected with the classic in an easy and effortless way.

Classic styles that are timeless and trend agnostic are always an important part of every collection. A garment’s longevity forms an underlying principle of the brand’s design philosophy. This season, in a twist, we mix a few iconic designs from past Abraham & Thakore collections into the new collections to demonstrate this principle.

Menswear is an important part of this collection and explores a softer male silhouette that reflects the changing reality of the way we live today. An unconstructed shirt jacket worn with casual separates is the new suit.

All fabrics are sourced from responsible sources and range from organic cotton to tencel in a variety of techniques. Handloom fabrics in specially commissioned double ikat weaves, handspun and handwoven fabrics in unusual fabrications are combined with prints and embroidery. Wild tussar silk fabrics and embroideries with tussar yarns lend subdued and rich textures to select silhouettes. The colour palette ranges from the multiple shades of tussar to black and white with splashes of lime green, citrus and lemon.
