Patterns of Life

“What do we see when we traverse from dark to light?”

“What are the magical patterns that form when we radically switch the frequency of colours?”

“Can all of life be measured between the colours black, white and grey?”

At Amit Aggarwal, over the past ten years, we have celebrated the beauty of the human form, the way it morphs and moulds into creating shapes that defy easy definitions. At a time when we keep switching between chaos to calm, it is only fair that we also rejoice in the irregularities amidst us. The misshapen, broken, indefatigable, rough, blurry realities that define so much of our lives in the present.

When conceptualising Patterns of Life, the idea was to celebrate this precise journey of moving between black and white and breaking down the innumerable patterns formed along the way — glitching, scrambling reality, and abstracting life itself.

To us, this journey also defines speed.

Patterns of Life celebrates the fact that when we are in the state of utmost speed, all we see is a dynamic blur of blacks, whites and silvers. From leotards that celebrate the wonders of human anatomy to chic gowns that are an ode to the old-school pleasures of dressing up to short dresses accentuated with slips and cutouts — it’s a celebration of life.

This collection was borne out of the spirit of the movement, of never being stagnant and always being on the move. At a time when we are gravitating towards new worlds and newer ways of looking at tried and tested ideas, Patterns of Life situates itself at the nerve Centre of a new kind of awakening.
