Stuck in Samsara

Throughout our life, our mind is in a constant state of flux and goes through a psychological metamorphosis with changing social environment. Our knowledge about the world goes through transformations based on how life events impact our thoughts.

While we find ourselves in the middle of a labyrinth of life with twists and turns and no dead end, we are never really lost. What might feel like an end of it all is just another beginning.

Stuck in Samsara tends to explore this endless cycle of birth, death and re-birth of thoughts envisioned in spaces around us, feelings within us and the universe beyond us. The depictions have been interpreted by the cyclic formation and dissolution of waves on a sand dune, by the black holes, which hold cues to the multiple big bangs, and by socially camouflaging our emotions.

The collection uses multiple natural textiles, from hand-woven peduncle silk to blends of cotton, silk and linens for outerwear while bottoms have been crafted using organic cotton denim and linen. Surface textures have been developed with block and screen prints, variations of hand embroidery techniques and patchwork. Silhouettes range from cropped military jackets, double-breasted blazers, bombers and safaris to touch upon the idea of a life well travelled.
