Friday, September 18th 2020: Gaurav Gupta Studio is proud to open the first-ever-digital show in India in association with FDCI’s ICW 2020 (India Couture Week) on 18th September at 8 pm. The pandemic and the lockdown; that followed shortly after, gave us a moment to hit pause on our lives. It was a moment to reflect on our actions, relationships, beliefs, the power of art, fashion and creativity. We discovered a narrative that stirs the existing dialogue, with love where boundaries are patched. Where narrow corridors of division, cults and definitions are pushed far and wide to make space for love—the only name that matters. The story is not shy, it’s not angry. It aims to rise above the storm and focus all its light on love.
Love: love for self, love for all genders, love for all body shapes, love for all ethnicities, love for all sexualities. Love for inclusivity. There is a new wave of social change in India which has been exposed only in pockets but hasn’t received a mainstream platform—the campaign is meticulously curated in order to uphold authenticity and capture a true sense of rawness which is vulnerable yet utterly endearing at the same time. While we were casting, we discovered beautiful stories where differences and sexualities were not just accepted but celebrated. We were enamored by these individuals’ sheer optimism; their experiences felt familiar yet bold and their stories needed to be heard. At Gaurav Gupta, we are honored to represent their courage, their candor, their honesty and their interpretation of love in its most real form. From Anjali Lama: a trans-female supermodel, Tarun: a non-binary model taking forefront in International campaigns and owning his feminine and masculine side gracefully in front of the camera, Nitya: a body positive woman, Vee: a trans-male model effortlessly showcasing his true self, two boys in love with each other-Rudra and Anurag to two girls in love with each other-Manauti and Anjali, happily living-in with their parents. We are celebrating all kinds of love, indeed a revolutionary and emotional moment to be seen and celebrated. In this process, we also discovered models from Jharkhand, Haryana and Assam who are oozing the potential and confidence to take over the International runway very soon.
Navkirat Sodhi, the magical poetess has written and recited ‘Name Is Love’, our original soundtrack for the show with an original music composition by Sahil Vasudeva—the track is available across platforms like Soundcloud and Spotify.
In India today, we are witnessing a cultural shift and are proud to have partnered with these fierce individuals and to have represented varied forms of love. We wish that this message resonates and connects with millions of people who are facing prejudice or feel inhibited to express themselves due to the pre-conceived societal norms; we hope that their voice can create a ripple of change.

Gaurav Gupta proudly the artistry behind his couture ateliers through the language of fine jewellery, with the introduction of a joint venture, ‘Gaurav Gupta Occasions Fine Jewellery’.
Gaurav’s spirit is deeply rooted in unfathomed elements of nature. This philosophy is indigenous to the brand and has now extended its way into forming a strong language for Couture Jewels—the line is expressed through five distinct elements of infinity, classic, pearl, feather and forest and will be featuring pieces created with rare diamonds, rubies, emeralds, opals and tanzanite sourced from Burma, Botswana, Colombia and Hyderabad. The collection is handmade and created with precious stones in carefully crafted white and rose gold settings to attain the perfect balance of form. It is rendered with memorable and sublime details reimagined through the intricacies of a custom wedding gown. From exquisite corset lacing to delicate crystal embellishments, each stone is cut and polished to release all its brilliance and distinctive beauty.
The jewellery is inspired by the unseen facets of the Indian heritage seamlessly integrated with the influences of the Victorian era which Gaurav has admired for its sheer elegance, grace and grandeur. We have taken this ideology to construct and re-invent these jewels in this time and space by evoking exceptional experiences. What makes our jewellery couture is a unique approach wherein each diamond is individually cut according to the design.
