Pratima Pandey is a NIFT alumni and the winner of Grazia Young Awards 2011, in the category of eco-friendly fashion. Her label ‘Prama’ lays emphasis on natural fabrics, thereby encouraging craftsmanship and sustainability.
The collection “mood swings is inspired by works of Picassos paintings for the three art movements- Rose period, Blue period and Cubistic war period and their three protagonist colors. Instilled on a backdrop of ecru the color blocking captures the enamored soul of the artist PABLO PICASSO.
The irony of the artists mood swings has been painted on a canvas of simple silhouettes of silk chanderi to weave a story of heady mix of feelings. The use of intricate embroidery of a plethora of shapes in indigenous techniques give the collection a cosmopolitan and opulent look, yet the palpability of strong emotions and the smells of history lurk beneath the surface.
