Designer Rina Dhaka burst on to the Indian fashion scene in the late eighties as one of the most promising stars and designers of her time.

At the India fashion week Rina Dhaka was declared the best collection in Milan. The jury was Michael Fink of Saks/ Albert Morris of Browns/ Fern Mallis of IMG and she also won the best designer award in Miami Fashion Week 2004.

Rina is very well known among the ‘it people’ of the world including clients such as Naomi Campbell, Martha Marzotto, Uma Thurman, Tara Palmer Tomlinson, Vittorio Radice, Kylie Minogue, Lynn Rothschild, and top actresses / industrialists.

Rina Dhaka is known as a designer for women WHO THINK.

Rina Dhaka has shown her work in The Louvre Paris, The Metropolitan Museum, New York, London, Mauritius, South Africa, Dubai, Singapore, Hong Kong and USA.

She was the best seller at the Bollywood promotion at Selfridges, Galeries Lafayette Paris, Lord and Taylor New York, Jaeger at Harvey Nichols, Tashi, London, Gloria Gratacos Spain, Loden Frey, and in Munich.

Currently retailing at Anthropology (stock her in their 175 stores), Indomix, USA, Lodenfrey, Munich, Fine Rhine, Hong Kong, Sanskrit, and in over 20 boutiques within India and the rest of the world.

Season after season, each new collection displays a free spirited and creative exploration that synthesizes traditional textiles and craft forms with dynamic demands of contemporary style needs.

BBC did a story about India’s new faces and Rina Dhaka was chosen over India’s large fashion industry and was referred to as the Gaultier of the East. She is currently on air on Fox Traveler with her show ‘The Style ‘N’ the City.

Rina supported a fund raiser for Bill Clinton in the U.S and is also a silent supporter of fundraising through fashion shows and other social events.

She has a retail outlet in New Delhi at DLF Emporio. The design studio is located at 75, New Mangla Puri, Mehrauli – New Delhi. The export backed factory is in plot no. 166, Gurgaon and has an in-house capacity for production of 5,000-10,000 pieces a month and boutique sampling production employing 100 employees.

Rina also invented “Lycra Churidars” (stretched leggings) in the 90’s for which are very popular today in Indian wear.

She designed catalogues for Barista’s international, which also won the design award for its layout.

The Autumn Winter 2016 collection is an experiment with shadow and light. It comes together in a play of ruffles and silhouettes. The garments are based on knitwear stitch fabric.
