nRohit draws from influences, wide and varied. From the village crafts and traditional methods of design that India is so rich in, to the transient phenomenon of the sub continents urban landscape, the designer brings them all to life in his spectacular yet original language.n nThe collection titled Nazar is actually representative of a subtle and gentle play on tonal shades of ivory and glimpses of gold. Organic in its structure and form it is based on the age old concept of the Jharoka. nIt has patterns and motifs taken from jaalis and antique marble screens. The ensembles are layered with fabrics like muslin, chanderi and voilles . There is tonal embroidery with an ample and generous use of gold. Silver and Gold sequins lend a gentle and serene sparkle to the otherwise understated and demure feminine feel of this couture collection. The men strut about like guilded peacocks, in their opulent and glamorous brocades.n nIt is as if being transported into the Durbar of a kingdom long lost to the ravages of time only to be born again even if its just only for a moment, one Nazar…. n n n
