
The designer duo Shantnu & Nikhil have marked their excellence in the best of both worlds- “art and commerce”. The creative half of the team, Nikhil Mehra pursued his Masters in Fashion from Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandise (FIDM), Los Angeles, while Shantnu completed his MBA in Finance from Ohio State University.
Consequently, Nikhil worked for St. John Knits, while Shantnu was with the corporate finance wing of General Motors. Their love affair with USA ended in 1999, after which both came back to India chasing their dream of launching a contemporary fashion brand in 2000.
Shantnu & Nikhil believe in excellence at its best and have been delivering the same ever since. Their design curiosity hasn’t stopped at Haute Couture; instead it has only attracted them to explore the not-so-obvious segment of fashion and their love for all things sports. In 2010, their historic tie-up with Adidas made them the only Indian designers in the world to have collaborated on such a strategic alliance. Today, their sports design expertise can be seen on the iconic Mumbai Indians jersey for the world’s most popular and most watched cricket league, the Indian Premier League (IPL).
In 2014, these versatile designers ventured into the burgeoning space of interiors that would keep accelerating the bespoke horizons of timeless & eternal residences.
Diversifying their boundaries, Shantnu & Nikhil have set a benchmark over period of 15 years, and will keep augmenting their horizons for measureless time, making the brand eternal.
They believe clothes create the dialogue ..it is a brand for strong men and women who represent a mentality of fighting for what they believe in, a sentiment which is relevant to both India and the world. They are nostalgically re-inventing Indian history through the art of the cloth by constantly breaking the myriad stereotypical notions of tradition & fashion and instead breeding a new minimalistic culture of refined and progressive design depicting gender equality and cross-cultural expression.
