Lucky are those whose journey of life takes them to new and unexpected places. Luckier still are those chosen few, whose journeys help them find their way back home.

They arrive where they started from, enriched by experiences gathered, wizened by time, fearless with the knowledge that broadened horizons bring.

Travel has always been a major source of influence for Pinnacle’s sartorial sensibilities. From Pondicherry florals to Grecian silhouettes, Korean bright to Japanese cherry blossoms, breezy French springs, and languid English Summers, have all seen themselves reflected in our previous collections.
Our spring-summer collection for 2022 is an ode to those who know that the magical thing about home is that even though it feels good to leave, it feels even better to come back.

2022 marks the 10th anniversary of our runway debut. This year’s collection is like coming full circle for me, a line that feels like an X-ray of my soul, I am honoured to present to your “Alchemy”.
Like the young man who travels the world in search of treasure, only to ultimately find it in his own backyard, Alchemy is my humble tribute to where it all began for me.

After spending the last two and a half years in a global pandemic, the comfort and familiarity of simpler times drenched in vibrant Indian summers of my childhood beckoned me back.

I grew up in post-colonial Kolkata, a commercial and cultural centre known to celebrate the arts. Hailing from a Rajasthani family, summers meant returning to the family home in Churu, Shikhavati, a sleepy hamlet 3 hours from Jaipur. I looked forward to idyllic vacations that were spent exploring the exquisite architecture of our family haveli, surrounded by forts and palaces. Walking to the nearby bazaars for some cheeky sweets while admiring the colourful local textiles and crafts beautifully made by artisans from various communities who co-existed peacefully.

Fantastical stories narrated by village elders about princesses draped in the finest threads that rescued themselves shaped my imagination.

In my humble attempt to recreate this magic, I revisited my favourite childhood spots and was met with a treasure trove of ingenuity.
Rich, multi-hued Maheshwari in metallic hues, sheer Chanderi in dusty pastels, raw silks, and silk from a cluster in Karnataka from where we have been sourcing for the past 9 years set the tone for this season’s textures.

Danka- a technique from Udaipur, perfected for the Royal families of Rajasthan, Pita, and Ektar embroideries add detail to this collection.
The clever use of German silver diskettes, metallic threads, and embellishments of various motifs makes the line contemporary and accessible.

Laborious techniques from the Mughal era coupled with delicate details handcrafted by master craftsmen promise pieces that carry a timeless appeal. Consider them modern heirlooms that can be passed on to future generations, each with an origin story of its own.
Classic silhouettes consisting of easy separates,

in colours like cyan, burnt orange, and metallic dusty deep blues, along with our perennial favourite ecru and charcoal surpass trends.

This is the personification of Slow fashion, with a look that is global combined with a soul that is totally indigenous. Sustainable, detail-oriented, and a celebration of the unsurpassed legacy of craft and textiles of India. Come, celebrate Alchemy with me, for there truly is no place like home.
