You want to know what comes between me and my Calvins? Nothing. Brooke Sheilds bushy brows make a catwalk comeback. Sonic Sarwate of M.A.C confirms that winter will be about effortless hair and a clean face with metallics turning show-stoppers

Autumn-winter breeze will bring along with it a whiff of simplicity in hair and make-up, confirms Sonic Sarwate of M.A.C, who is ready to metamorphosise models into the creative vision of WIFW designers. It is all about the real woman now, in my experience of being a part of London and Paris Fashion Week, this time there will be no drama. Its back to clean faces with just a small detail, and that can be anything from an overpowering not overdone eyeshadow, to a bold mouth, he adds.
Interestingly, he explains that when you have a clean canvas even a small dot can make a huge difference making a definitive impact. Wind-blown tresses, out-of–bed look and a natural flush are winning combinations. The beauty of this season is that one can do make-up without it looking like you have used anything, he adds.
Ruffled hair or neat buns, hair bands, headgears and feathered additions are other winners of the season even though for the eyes, the Pantone colour of the year, deep blue and green are being used to highlight the peepers. Indian women love kohl so thats not going anywhere, but the smokey eye will be a lot softer and not blown out like the cat eye. Having said that I must confess that the winged eyeliner is another classic that is here to stay, he confirms.
Vibrant mouth is a keeper in aut-winter with shades of red, orange, deep berry and dark purple making a bold statement. Nude lippers are in, but they do not translate to having no colour, rather they will just enhance the natural colour of your mouth, he adds.
There are some timeless looks which Sonic believes have withstood the test of time; being a big admirer of blonde bombshell Marilyn Monroe, he admits that just an effective eyeliner and red mouth can work wonders and has been doing so for decades. But on the other extreme, Sonic also cant get enough of Lady Gagas experimental streak, with her Born This Way or Bad Romance eccentric looks.
Smokey eyes and nude lips is another one which designers are lovin. But the eyebrows are bushier now taking you back in time, reminding you of the teenage Brooke Shields and her Calvin Klein ad (You want to know what comes between me and my Calvins? Nothing. she has famously crooned). Eyebrows are kept naturally thick rather than drawn out and thats what makes them a show stealer, he smiles.
With the most imitated red carpet looks going back to minimalism with two favourites Deepika Padukone and Priyanka Chopra opting for austerity over theatrics, Sonic says that metallics are sweeping the style corridors of Hollywood. With metallics you are stepping into the glitter zone, with bronze and gold way ahead of Bordeaux toned hues. Even sheer nail polish comes with metallic touches, he concludes.
