Amalraj Sengupta

Amalraj Sengupta, a NIFT Kolkata 2008 graduate majoring in fashion design. His achievements include Usha best ‘garment construction’ award for his graduating design collection. An award handed over by the then Textile Minister during his 14th convocation ceremony for “academic excellence and community service” for overall performance in college. He also won the Van Heusen “emerging designer award” for India’s first ever Men’s fashion week held in New Delhi in 2009. For him creativity knows no boundaries. He presumes fashion to be a form of art, and one has to be able to exhibit one’s thoughts and bring them to reality. His design vocabulary is unique and inspiring. His ensembles are known for endearing patterns, structures and an interesting interplay of fabrics and colours with impeccable finish. The basic concept of the label Amalraj Sengupta is futuristic, which takes into account structural experimentation.
