This national level badminton player and part-time boxer, who grew up in Darbhanga, has set her eyes on being a civil servant. Meet the tour de force in fashion, the lovely Aishwarya Sushmita!

1994 born Aishwarya Sushmita got her name from the two beauty queens, who were competing for the coveted crown that year (they won the night she was born, hence the name), but growing up in the small town of Bihar, Darbhanga didnt dampen her dreams. At 21, this state-level badminton player and college-level boxer has the energy of a marathon runner and the resolve of a mountaineer.
Growing up in a family with three sisters, Aishwarya, standing tall at five feet nine inches was inspired by her older sister, a NIFT (Mumbai) graduate in fashion design to get into modelling, even though Darbhanga as a city offered nothing to spur this profession. However, her supportive parents, specially her father, a State Bank of India employee wanted his daughter to touch the stars.
I studied philosophy in college, hoping to sit for my civil service exams, which I will eventually pursue after I complete my masters, which I am currently finishing from Delhi University, she smiles.
It has been a arduous, but wonderful journey for this spirited girl, who calls herself extremely spiritual and admits that competing for Ms India in 2015 (where she made it to the top 6) was the starting point of this riveting ride in fashion.
I grew up in a non-descript town, where the word fashion didnt exist. When I came to Delhi I was exposed to many things, among them was modelling. But being a sportsperson, I was naturally thin and fit, so I quickly got noticed, she adds.
Though if you ask her who she admires, she will tell you without blinking an eye, it is Deepika Padukone, who was also a model and a badminton player like me. She is a force to reckon with. She will go down in history as the finest actress.
Hoping to walk for two of her idols, Manish Malhotra whom she recently met and was charmed by as well as Manish Arora, Aishwarya likes the fact that fame and fortune hasnt changed their demeanour. Both were warm, friendly and full of fresh ideas. Thats just what I want to be like ten years down the line, a positive person, exuding happy vibes, she grins.
