This Alice is not in wonderland as she knows exactly what she wants to do. The tomboy from the city of the Charminar is hoping to get a foothold in the world of vanity.

Growing up in Hyderabad, Alice Rosario never thought her orthodox Tamil family would ever allow her to enter the world of modelling. But fate, as they say played its wild card, and she did, after she won a college show which pole vaulted her to a journey where the lights will be shining on her for a long time to come.
The 22-year-old was selected when she was 18 despite her tomboy looks and unwillingness to look super feminine in the largely bridal oriented market in Hyderabad. For some time I tried. Honestly, she laughs, to fit into the whole girlie thing with long hair, but then I decided if they really like me they will give me work despite my bob cut.
She did find lots of work in Mumbai, a city she moved to, two years ago after completing her B.Com (hons). And now this first timer at the AIFW says that since she started modelling her confidence has soared and she can hold meaningful conversations with people which is quite different from her reserved self as a painfully shy teen. My dad who is an international football player wondered what I was doing here, she giggles, adding, but my mom was super supportive and that helped. But I am the odd one out in the family as I dont speak Tamil and only a smattering a Telugu.
Living with seven dogs back home, Alice was a sports lover just like her older sister so athletics and volleyball were two of her favourite things. Considered tallest amongst her peers, Alice never thought modelling would ever be a career option. I was a kid who never knew what I wanted to do. I knew I didnt want to be in the IT sector, sitting all day in front of the computer, I wanted to do something in the creative field, even though I studied commerce. So now I just go with the flow and I wont say no even to a mainstream Bollywood film, if it comes my way, she admits.
A big fan of Sabyasachi Mukherjee, Alice hopes she gets an opportunity to work with him, even though personally she likes anti-fit, androgynous styles of Lovebirds, Doodlage and Kanika Goyal. I admire Sabyas aesthetics and his strong use of colour in the most restrained manner, she concludes.
