Glitter and colour to make a play for those electric eyes as the no makeup look is officially out!

The visible change that has occurred in the India Couture Week 2016, is that designers are viewing makeup in tandem with the themes of their collections. It is far more conceptualised, says Sonic Sarwate from M.A.C Cosmetics. But even then you can expect a lot of glitter and of course, multi-dimensional colour.
The past few seasons we have seen the effortless, less is more makeup, this time it is just tweaked to a bit more sophistication, and the whole appeal is rich, he adds.
The eyes is where the drama remains, with extra luscious lashes as the colours range from metallics taking the lead along with pastels, bronze, silver, platinum and gold, graciously following. We havent totally abandoned the reds and maroons, they do make a fleeting appearance. Designers vision is more in sync with glamour, so makeup becomes your perfect accessory, he explains.
With braids making a splash, this time Sonic admits that it will be seen in sublime versions—-from fishtail to mermaid with hair accessories adding a touch of pizzazz. The Hollywood glamour of black and white films is back with its pleasing undertones, sensual not seductive—classic and chic but never over-the-top, he says.
As ICW 2016 will see an avalanche of showstoppers, Sonic has to walk a tight rope and find a balance between the theme of the designers line and the stars inherent personality; they should neither overlap nor overtake each other.
Interestingly, cheeks might have a sheen and they will be a play of textures pushing natural matte rather than the flushed look, lips can be bold and there will be subtle detailing like a romantic interlude more than heavyweight strokes. With destination wedding becoming the flavour of the season every designer has his own style and wants to interpret how effectively he can use glossy lids, dewy skin and mix and match coloured lashes and thats what will give that undeniable edge, he concludes.
